Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Monday inaugurated various developmental initiatives in Meghalaya at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong.
The projects include the New Shillong Water Supply Scheme Phase II, a 110-metre bridge over the Umngot and a 13.5-kilometre road connecting Umsen to Barapathar.
Other projects inaugurated by the Vice President are a 30-bed AYUSH facility at Shillong Civil Hospital and a 2×50 MVA power substation at Mawkhanu with associated transmission infrastructure.
Earlier, the Vice President, who is on a tour of four North Eastern states, arrived at Umroi Airport from Guwahati.
He was warmly received by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai, Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, Director General of Police (DGP), and senior officials including the SP and DC of Ri-Bhoi District , along with other high-ranking government officials.
