Swedish Furniture Giant IKEA Targets South Delhi with Second Capital Store at DLF Avenue, Saket

Following the successful launch of its debut physical outpost in West Delhi’s Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden nearly a year ago, Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA is actively expanding its footprint in India’s capital region. Recognizable blue and yellow branding has recently emerged on the exterior walls of DLF Avenue in Saket, right opposite the main entrance of Select Citywalk, signaling the brand’s imminent arrival in South Delhi. While the company has yet to release an official announcement, industry rumors strongly suggest that the new retail location is on track to open its doors to the public by the end of July 2026.

The upcoming Saket establishment is expected to mirror the compact, small-format retail blueprint introduced at the Tagore Garden branch, which spans roughly 15,000 square feet. Rather than mimicking the sprawling, multi-acre suburban warehouses the multinational brand is famous for, this localized mall concept offers a curated, city-centric experience. The interior layout will feature specialized room inspirations tailored to compact Delhi apartments, dedicated digital planning tools, and a selection of daily home accessories. To maximize space efficiency within the shopping complex, larger customer furniture pieces—such as complex bed frames, wardrobes, and modular sofas—will be ordered via in-store digital terminals and delivered directly to consumers’ homes from regional fulfillment hubs.
