The ‘Yatra Parivar’ is organising a grand three-day ‘Shri Ganesh Janmotsav 2026’ at the Shri Rajasthan Vishram Bhavan on Lukier Road in Shillong since Monday.
The event features the worship of an idol made from cow dung—a tradition maintained for the past eight years.
The festival commenced on Monday on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
This three-day religious celebration includes the installation of the deity (Ganpati Sthapana), daily worship, Maha Aarti, and cultural programs, and will conclude with the immersion (Visarjan) ceremony on September 16.
