Lenskart Hits New High as Strong Growth Outlook Boosts Valuation

Lenskart Solutions has crossed the ₹1 trillion market-capitalisation mark after its shares touched a new high, highlighting strong investor interest in the eyewear retailer. At 12:39 pm on Monday, the company’s market capitalisation stood at around ₹1.01 trillion, according to exchange data. The stock has gained about 19% over the past three months, significantly outperforming the 3.5% rise in the BSE Sensex, while its 2026 gain has reached 33% compared with a 7.7% decline in the benchmark index. Lenskart designs, manufactures, brands and retails eyewear, including prescription glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and accessories. The company sees substantial growth potential in India’s largely underpenetrated organised eyewear market. It currently serves around 25 million eyewear units annually, against an estimated requirement of more than 700 million. For FY27, the company expects net new store additions to remain broadly in line with FY26 and plans to drive growth through higher eye-test penetration, customer acquisition, expansion into Tier-2 and smaller cities, premium lenses, advanced coatings, myopia management, faster fulfilment and smart eyewear. Meanwhile, several institutional investors have monetised holdings. Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments sold a 2.05% stake in July, while SoftBank offloaded 3.25% in June. Global institutions including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Societe Generale also acquired a combined 2.3% stake from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority-linked holdings, reflecting continued activity among major investors.
