As part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the 120th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday organised a series of patriotic programmes in Tura on the eve of Independence Day celebrations.
The day began with a bike rally organised by 120 Battalion CRPF, Tura, from the Battalion Headquarters to Super Market, Tura.
The rally covered a distance of 10 km across the city.
The initiative was aimed at promoting the spirit of patriotism, national unity and respect for the National Flag among citizens.
CRPF personnel participated enthusiastically while carrying the Tricolour and spreading the message of “Har Ghar Tiranga” while encouraging people to hoist the National Flag at their homes.
Following the rally, a mass singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ was held at the P.A Sangma Stadium. The event was attended by senior CRPF officers, personnel and civilian who gathered with great enthusiasm to express patriotism and pay tribute to the nation.
Addressing the media, Arvind Kumar Upadhyay, second in-charge of 120 Battalion of CRPF, said the programmes were organised as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
He stated that similar mass singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ was also organised by the DIG in Delhi and at various other places across the country. He further said that the 120 Battalion, CRPF conducted the mass singing with its team and with the participation of civilians. The bike rally, held earlier in the day, was part of the same initiative.
