APCC Team Led By J.P. Das Visits Mimangbadati, Says Peace Yet To Return At Border

An Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) delegation today visited areas along the Assam-Arunachal border and noted that tension continues to prevail in the border ares over the ongoing boundary dispute.
Led by Dr. J.P. Das, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, the APCC delegation visited the Mimangbadati area and interacted with local indigenous residents. According to locals, peace and harmony have yet to return between the two states. Meanwhile, the police and administration barred the Congress delegation from visiting the main conflict-affected zone.
Das alleged that the Assam Government has completely failed to resolve the border issue, leaving the indigenous communities of the state gripped by insecurity. He urged the state government to safeguard the land, economic, and constitutional rights of Assam’s indigenous people.
Meanwhile, eight indigenous persons from Assam injured in firing by Arunachal Police are currently undergoing treatment at the Dibrugarh Medical College. The Congress delegation visited the injured individuals today to inquire about their health condition, where one youth remains in critical condition.
Along with MLA Dr. J.P. Das, APCC General Secretary Sailen Konwar and Treasurer Dr. Hemhari Pegu were part of the visiting delegation.
