The Amazon India Great Summer Sale 2026 began officially on May 8, with one of the most eagerly awaited shopping events of the year, with a significant focus on artificial intelligence. The theme of this year’s sale is “Summer ka Santa” and it is defined by the integration of Amazon’s generative AI conversational assistant, Rufus, for shoppers to access over a million deals using natural language prompts. Rufus gives shoppers tools to compare products side-by-side, check price histories over 90 days to confirm real discounts, and personalized recommendations for things like “summer vacation outfits” or “energy-efficient ACs.” Also new is the improved Lens AI feature that lets users upload a photo to find products, and the AR-powered “View in Your Room” tool that helps users visualize furniture and appliances in their actual living spaces before making a purchase.
Savings-wise, the sale packs aggressive markdowns across the board, including electronics that are up to 75% off and large appliances that are up to 65% off. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite with AI is available for ₹38,999 and the iQOO 15R is available for ₹42,999. HDFC Bank cardholders can avail of instant discount of 10% and ‘No Cost EMI’ plans starting at Rs 9 per day as the financial incentives on offer. Prime members get early access and 3% extra discount on over 2 lakh products. Along with hardware, Amazon Pay has rolled out some big travel incentives, including discounts of up to 40 per cent on international hotel stays. This digital-first stance is a reflection of Amazon’s emphasis on harnessing AI-backed personalization to make the Indian shopper’s shopping journey more intuitive and value-led.
