Police have intensified checking of two- and four-wheelers across Shillong as part of measures to maintain peace and ensure public safety.
The intensified checking comes in the wake of several incidents reported in the city in recent days, including damage to government vehicles and offices.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Lovish Garg was seriously injured on Friday morning after being hit by a scooty while conducting vehicle checking at Urkaliar.
