Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has entered India’s competitive ice-cream market with its Bombay Creamery brand. The new range includes cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, with prices starting at ₹10, making the products accessible to a wide range of consumers. The ice-cream products will initially be launched across western India before being expanded to other parts of the country. The move places RCPL in direct competition with established players such as Amul and Kwality Wall’s India as the company continues to expand its presence across consumer categories. T Krishnakumar, Director of RCPL, said Bombay Creamery was built around the idea that dairy products should not rely on shortcuts. He added that the company’s entry into the category reflects a long-term commitment to ice cream, with the products made using real dairy cream and positioned around genuine taste at an affordable price. The launch marks another expansion of Reliance’s FMCG portfolio and signals its ambition to build a stronger presence in India’s growing packaged food and consumer market.
