Stress Management Programme for Children in CCIs Conducted at Sri Vijaya Puram

A special stress management programme was organized for children residing in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) at Sri Vijaya Puram, under the initiative of Mission Vatsalya. The event was conducted by the State Child Protection Society (SCPS) in collaboration with Oil India Pvt. Ltd., aiming to strengthen the emotional resilience and mental well-being of children in institutional care.

The programme, held at Pranab Kanya Sangha, included interactive sessions on stress management techniques, mindfulness practices, and group activities designed to help children cope with everyday challenges. Experts guided participants through breathing exercises, role-play, and storytelling sessions to encourage self-expression and confidence-building.

Mrs. Rehaneth Begum, Programme Manager of SCPS, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of holistic child development. As part of the welfare initiative, LED televisions were also distributed to 11 CCIs, enhancing both recreational and educational opportunities for the children.

Officials highlighted that stress management is a crucial component of child welfare, particularly for those in CCIs who often face unique emotional challenges. The programme is expected to be replicated in other districts, ensuring wider access to structured mental health support for vulnerable children.
