Sanjiv Goenka Shares Fatherly Moment with LSG’s Rising Star Mukul Choudhary

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka shared a heartfelt moment on the field with rising star Mukul Choudhary after the youngster delivered a match-winning performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2026 clash at Eden Gardens.

Choudhary played a sensational unbeaten knock of 54 runs off just 27 balls, guiding LSG to a thrilling victory while chasing a target of 181. Following the match, Goenka was seen engaged in a long and animated conversation with the young batter on the field, appreciating his composure and match-winning effort.

Speaking after the game, Choudhary reflected on his journey, revealing that his cricketing path was shaped by his father’s dream. “Even before I was born, my father wanted his son to become a cricketer. Our financial condition wasn’t strong in the beginning. I started playing cricket seriously when I was around 12 or 13,” he said.

He also spoke about the challenges he faced early on. “There were not many academies in Jhunjhunu, so I moved to Jaipur to pursue better opportunities,” he added.

Highlighting his efforts to adapt to the evolving demands of modern cricket, Choudhary said, “I saw how much T20 cricket is growing, so I moved to Gurugram and trained there for three to four months.”

On handling pressure in high-stakes situations, the youngster displayed remarkable maturity. “Pressure is always there, but I see it as an opportunity. God has given us this chance, and I try to make the most of it. My plan was to stay till the end, and I believed I could win the match for my team,” he explained.

Describing his mindset during the final phase of the chase, Choudhary added, “I knew one ball would come into my zone, and I just needed to capitalize. I’ve always been a natural hitter. If it’s in my area, I go for it.”

His confident approach and finishing ability have quickly marked him as one of LSG’s most exciting emerging talents this season.
