Apple iOS 26 Beta 2: Featuring enhancements to Liquid Glass and the introduction of a new Live Radio widget

Apple has introduced iOS 26 beta 2, the most recent iteration of its operating system for iPhones. This version was announced at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference just over a month ago and features a newly designed translucent aesthetic known as “Liquid Glass,” along with various other enhancements. Below is a brief overview of iOS 26 beta 2. With this latest iOS beta, Apple appears to have addressed one of the most frustrating changes that early users have been voicing concerns about. Since 2025, numerous beta testers who upgraded their devices to iOS 26 have reported that the updated Liquid Glass design rendered text in the Control Center difficult to read and nearly illegible at times. Fortunately, Apple seems to have recognized the problem and has modified the transparency to improve readability. Rather than a transparent background, iOS 26 beta 2 now features a darker hue and increased blurriness, which should alleviate some of the readability challenges. Nevertheless, it appears that the user interface still requires further refinement, particularly regarding lighter backgrounds.

If you find the transparency unappealing, you have the option to select Reduce Transparency under Accessibility in the Settings application to minimize the translucent user interface. In the latest update to Safari, Apple appears to have relocated the new tab button within the tab management interface. The “+” button for opening a new tab is now situated in the bottom left corner, similar to its placement in iOS 18. Additionally, the company is introducing a new Live Radio widget to its Music application, which may prove beneficial for users who frequently listen to the service.
