Wandoor Gram Panchayat hosted a drug abuse awareness program

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan organized a drug abuse and prevention awareness session at the Wandoor Gram Panchayat to raise community knowledge of the risks associated with substance misuse and the value of teamwork in addressing the problem. The Directorate of Social Welfare coordinated the event with the Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (IRCA), the Health Department, and the Police Department’s Anti-Narcotics Division.

Speakers during the conference emphasized the grave health, societal, and familial repercussions of drug, alcohol, and tobacco usage. The conversations focused on the increasing link between substance abuse and an increase in criminal activity and dangers to public safety. Departmental representatives discussed the difficulties experienced by those battling addiction, the rehabilitation process, and the value of community assistance in prevention and recovery initiatives. Information about the variety of support services and aid accessible to people with substance use problems and their families was also included in the program.
