Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025 Kicks Off in Nicobars to Strengthen Farmers’ Prosperity

The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025 has been launched as a nationwide initiative to empower farmers by connecting them with modern agricultural techniques and scientific advancements. The campaign, which runs from May 29 to June 12, 2025, aims to reach 1.5 crore farmers across 700 districts through direct engagement with agricultural experts.

  • Personalized Guidance: Farmers will receive advice tailored to their local climate, soil conditions, and crop requirements.
  • Government Support: The initiative is backed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and various state agricultural departments.
  • Two-Way Communication: Scientists will not only educate farmers but also gather feedback to shape future agricultural research and policies.
  • The campaign was officially launched by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Puri, Odisha, and will cover nearly 20 states. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and sustainable agricultural sector.
  • This large-scale effort is expected to boost productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and increase farmers’ incomes, making agriculture more resilient and efficient.
