Hyderabad, July 25 — In a strategic move to bolster box office revenues, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a special ticket price hike for Kingdom, the upcoming spy action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda. The film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is set for theatrical release on July 31, 2025.
According to the government order, ticket prices will be increased by ₹50 for single-screen theatres and ₹75 for multiplexes across Andhra Pradesh. The revised rates will be applicable for a 10-day window starting from the release date.
Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, Kingdom blends historical and mythological elements, tracing the journey of a warrior reborn to protect his people amid post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil unrest. The film features Bhagyashri Borse in her Tollywood debut and Satyadev in a pivotal role. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with Deverakonda and a reunion with director Tinnanuri.
Promotional activities are in full swing, with a grand trailer launch scheduled for July 26 in Tirupati, followed by a pre-release event. A 40-foot cutout of Vijay Deverakonda is also set to be unveiled at Nehru Municipal Ground, underscoring the film’s high-profile rollout.
The ticket hike aligns with recent trends in Telugu cinema, where temporary pricing boosts have been granted to major releases to help producers recover costs. Industry insiders view the move as a potential catalyst for Kingdom’s commercial success, especially given Deverakonda’s recent underwhelming box office performances.
The actor, recently recovering from dengue, is expected to join promotional efforts in the final week leading up to the release.
