Tulsi Gabbard Highlights Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism: Calls Islamist Terrorism a Threat to India and the US

Tulsi Gabbard, the United States Director of National Intelligence, when asked about Pakistan-sponsored attacks against India, categorically mentioned “Islamist terrorism” and termed it a threat that has affected both India and America as well as several countries in the Middle East.

Gabbard, who met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar earlier today, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump are working together to defeat it.

When asked “how the Trump administration sees the repeated terror attacks on India from Pakistan”, Gabbard responded with an Islamist terrorism remark. “President Trump, through his first administration and he continues now, has been very clear about his commitment to defeating this threat of Islamist terrorism that has unfortunately plagued us and has and continues to pose a direct threat to American people. We see how it has been impacting people here in India and in Bangladesh, currently ongoing in Syria, Israel and different countries in Middle East. This is a threat that I know Prime Minister Modi also takes seriously and one where our leaders will work together to try to identify and defeat that.”

She also expressed happiness about being in India and talked about her love for Indian food.
