Tuberculosis orientation training held at CHC Nancowrie

The Community Health Centre (CHC) in Nancowrie successfully held a one-day orientation training session on tuberculosis (TB) with the goal of improving the knowledge and abilities of medical workers. Nursing Officers, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), Multi-Purpose Health Workers (MPHWs), Community Health Officers (CHOs), and other paramedical staff actively participated in the program, which was conducted at the CHC conference hall.

The workshop was led by CHC Nancowrie’s Medical Officer, Dr. M. A. Tanzeer, who conducted a thorough discussion on a number of important TB care topics. He emphasized the significance of symptom identification, early diagnosis, and active case finding (ACF). Dr. Tanzeer described methods for handling suspected TB cases to guarantee efficient disease control, emphasizing the importance of early detection and treatment.

Mr. D. Suresh Kumar (STS) contributed to the discussion by giving a thorough overview of TB drugs and the Directly Observed Treatment, Short-course (DOTS) approach. Additionally, he underlined the significance of screening high-risk populations, such as those receiving Antenatal Care (ANC), those with diabetes, and close relatives of TB patients who have been diagnosed. The training emphasized the value of teamwork in the fight to eradicate tuberculosis and urged medical professionals to be proactive in spotting and treating cases as soon as possible. By leaving the session with greater tools to fight tuberculosis, participants strengthened the region’s collective commitment to public health.
