Tragedy in Rajkot: Residential Tower Fire Claims Three Lives, Injures One, 40 Rescued

A tragic fire broke out in the Atlantis Apartment, a 12-storey residential building in Rajkot, Gujarat, on the morning of March 14, 2025. The fire, which originated on the sixth floor, claimed the lives of three individuals and left one person injured. Emergency services, including fire brigades and ambulances, rushed to the scene to rescue residents trapped in the building.
Authorities reported that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit. The blaze resulted in thick smoke, making it challenging for residents to evacuate. Around 40 people were rescued from the upper floors, with five individuals brought down using a hydraulic crane. Two of the deceased were identified as Kalpesh Leuva and Mayur Leuva, while the identity of the third victim is yet to be confirmed. It was noted that two of the victims were outsiders who had come to the building for work.
The fire was brought under control by noon, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause. This incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures in residential complexes.
