To Boost Cattle Productivity, Veterinary Health and Infertility Camps Conducted Across North & Middle Andaman

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS) has started a number of Veterinary Health and Infertility Camps in different villages in the North and Middle Andaman in an important effort to boost livestock productivity and improve rural livelihoods. The program, which got underway on June 16, 2025, is to help cattle with reproductive problems, enhance their general health, and support environmentally friendly livestock production methods. About 660 cattle have benefited from the 27 camps that have been held as of July 5, 2025.
Billiground (2 camps, 31 cattle), Diglipur (11 camps, 257 cattle), Kadamtala (1 camp, 32 cattle), Nabagram (7 camps, 135 cattle), Rangat (2 camps, 17 cattle), Sitanagar (3 camps, 61 cattle), and Webi (2 camps, 125 cattle) were among the important sites where the camps were set up. For a variety of reproductive and general health conditions, veterinary professionals provide prompt on-site care. In order to minimize production losses and enhance fertility, cattle with infertility, nutritional deficits, and other conditions got prompt care.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services is organizing veterinary camps to boost milk production and strengthen economic stability for livestock-dependent farmers. These camps focus on effective reproduction management, scientifically balanced feeding practices, and knowledge transfer. The camps aim to provide quality veterinary care and expert guidance to remote communities, ensuring better herd productivity and reduced reproductive inefficiencies.
