Tim David and Kieron Pollard Face Serious Repercussions From BCCI Due to DRS Cheating Allegations

Tim David, the batter for the Mumbai Indians, and Kieron Pollard, the batting coach, have been fined twenty percent of their individual match costs for violating the IPL Code of Conduct on April 18 during the team’s match against the Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. The five-time winners’ squad and support personnel were shown in a widely circulated video of the game reportedly giving batter Suryakumar Yadav improper help in asking for a review, which led to the imposition of the fine. In accordance with IPL Code of Conduct Article 2.20, David and Pollard committed a Level 1 offense. Twenty percent of each player’s match fees was penalized to David and Pollard, according to an IPL statement on Saturday.

“They both acknowledged the offense and accepted the punishment from the match referee. The decision made by the match referee is definitive and enforceable for Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct.” Arshdeep Singh delivered a full and far outside off-stump ball that was very close to the line in the 15th over of MI’s innings. While batting on 67 from 47 deliveries, Suryakumar attempted to chase it, but the onfield umpire judged it to be a legitimate delivery. To Suryakumar, however, TV cameras captured MI head coach Mark Boucher signaling that it was a wide. David and Pollard then appeared to be pressuring the right-hander to take a review, which is against the rules.

After being knocked out for 183 while pursuing 193, MI won the game by eight runs over PBKS.Standing-in captain Sam Curran of PBKS commented after the game that it was “heart-breaking” for his team to come close and lose. This team like a close game.” It was Ashutosh who helped me heal and get better.. “I hope we can secure the victories in close games and gain momentum,” Curran had stated.
