Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands — A three-day workshop focused on the implementation of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and dissemination of PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024–25 results concluded successfully on September 12, 2025, at Shiksha Sadan, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event marked a significant step toward advancing National Education Policy (NEP) 2020-aligned assessment reforms in the Union Territory.
Jointly organized by the Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH), NCERT New Delhi, and the State Institute of Education (SIE), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the workshop aimed to strengthen institutional readiness and teacher capacity for implementing the HPC across all stages of schooling.
The training sessions were led by expert faculty from NCERT and master trainers from SIE, covering practical strategies for deploying the Holistic Progress Card at the Foundational, Preparatory, and Middle stages. Participants were also trained to interpret and apply findings from the PARAKH survey, which evaluates competency-based learning outcomes across the country.
A total of 100 teachers participated in the workshop, with 50 attending in person and 50 joining virtually from various educational zones. The sessions emphasized decoding student learning profiles, integrating formative assessments, and aligning classroom practices with NEP’s vision of personalized, competency-driven education.
Notably, the Holistic Progress Card has already been implemented across all grades—from Balvatika to Grade 12—in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Hard copies have been distributed to schools, and the workshop served to reinforce best practices and ensure consistent application of the framework.
Officials from the Department of Education lauded the initiative, highlighting its role in fostering a more inclusive and learner-centric evaluation system. The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment to data-driven educational planning and continuous professional development for educators.
The successful completion of this workshop signals a progressive shift in the region’s educational landscape, aligning local efforts with national priorities for holistic student development.
