The head of Congress calls for immediate action to improve the conditions in the female ward

Mr. Rangalal Halder, the president of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee, has formally asked the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration, to act immediately to remedy the worsening conditions in GB Pant Hospital’s Female Ward 2. Mr. Halder emphasized in his letter the difficulties that patients in the ward—which houses about 30–40 people—face. He emphasized how an uncomfortable atmosphere has been caused by poor ventilation and hygiene standards, which are made worse by insufficient or non-working fans that impede effective air movement. He also expressed concern about the ward’s general decline as a result of years of neglect and poor upkeep.
The lack of cleaning personnel has made the unsanitary conditions worse, and the walls haven’t been painted in a long time. There isn’t enough sweepers allocated to the entire ward to maintain the necessary levels of hygiene,” Mr. Halder said. Mr. Halder has urgently appealed to the Directorate of Health Services to address these issues in three ways: 1. Three air conditioners will be installed to increase comfort and air circulation. 2. More sweepers are needed to guarantee adequate cleaning. 3. Prompt maintenance to bring the ward back to livable conditions.
Mr. Halder stressed the significance of giving patients a secure and comfortable environment and asked the administration to act quickly to resolve these urgent problems.
