The Directorate of Shipping Services introduces a new ferry service for Little Andaman

The Directorate of Shipping Services has announced the opening of a new ferry service beginning March 6, 2025, in an effort to improve access to the Little Andaman. The transportation demands of commuters will now be met by a speed boat that can accommodate 75–100 passengers every Thursday. The ship is scheduled to leave Phoenix Bay Jetty at 6:15 AM and return to Sri Vijaya Puram from Little Andaman at 1:00 PM that same day. The goal of this project is to increase convenience and accessibility for both locals and tourists. The larger vessel, which presently makes three weekly journeys to the Little Andaman on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, will be complemented by the new service.
