South Andaman District Administration Evicts Illegal Encroachments at School Line Village, Restores Government Land

Port Blair, August 21 — In a decisive move to safeguard public assets, the South Andaman District Administration carried out a targeted eviction drive at School Line village, reclaiming approximately 1,200 square meters of government land from unauthorized occupation.

The operation was led by the Revenue Department as part of the Administration’s ongoing efforts to enforce land regulations and prevent illegal encroachments. During the inspection, officials identified five unauthorized structures and four illegal fencing installations on government land. Acting swiftly, the team mobilized necessary manpower and machinery to dismantle the encroachments and restore the land to its original government khata.

The eviction was executed peacefully and in an orderly manner, with full adherence to legal protocols. The reclaimed land has now been officially recorded under government ownership, reinforcing the Administration’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of public property.

The District Administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachments and urged citizens to refrain from occupying government land illegally.
