Skoda Auto India has confirmed the return of its performance sedan, the Octavia RS, to the Indian market. Pre-bookings will begin on October 6, with the official price announcement set for October 17. Offered in limited numbers, only 100 units of the Octavia RS will be brought to India as fully built units (FBUs). Powering the car is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 265PS and 370Nm, paired with a DSG automatic gearbox. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph.
The RS (Rally Sport) badge has long symbolized Skoda’s motorsport heritage. First launched in India in 2004, the Octavia RS became a cult favourite among driving enthusiasts.
Skoda India Brand Director Ashish Gupta said the RS comeback marks both Skoda’s 130th global anniversary and 25 years in India. The car will be a UK-spec model built in the Czech Republic, imported under the GSR 870 rule. Expected to be priced above ₹45 lakh, the Octavia RS will rival premium sedans like the Mercedes A-Class, BMW 2 Series, and Audi A4.
