Siliguri to witness a grand procession during Ram Navami on April 17
Siliguri, April 15: Shri Ram Navami Mahotsav Committee has released to dispose a grand procession in Siliguri on April 17 to memorialize Ram Navami. This release was made during a press conference held at Siliguri reporters /Journalists Club on Monday.
According to reports, the procession is scheduled to begin with a puja at the Hanuman temple in Mallaguri. The rally will pass through various locations in Siliguri including Siliguri Junction, Mahatma Gandhi Mod, Sevoke Road, Bidhan Road, Hillcart Road and Burdwan Road before terminating at Siliguri Hindi High School.
It is noteworthy that Ram devotees from different parts of the city are expected to join the procession, which will include seven tableaux organized by the Central Association. These tableaux will display images representing Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Mathura and Gomata.
In this regard, Laxman Bansal, Secretary of Shri Ram Navami Mahotsav Committee, expressed the fear of huge crowd and said that more crowd is expected in this year’s Ram Navami festival as compared to previous years.
