Shrimp farming and mud crab fattening training will be organized by the Fisheries Department

The National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, is providing financial support for the Department of Fisheries’ Fisheries Training Center, Marine Hill, to host a three-day training course on “Mud Crab Fattening and Shrimp Farming” as part of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The seminar, which is set for March 2025, is to provide participants a thorough understanding of farming in brackish water. Important topics including pre-stocking and stocking management, feeding practices, health management, and the architecture and design of shrimp and crab farms will all be covered in the curriculum. Field trips to aquaculture farms and hatcheries will also be planned in order to give participants hands-on experience.
Twenty-five people will be chosen for the training, and the department will help them with their commercial endeavors using the PMMSY program. Fishermen, fish farmers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), indigenous people, and young people without jobs are all eligible to participate in the program. In addition to lunch and refreshments, chosen trainees will get a daily stipend of Rs. 300 and a daily travel allowance of Rs. 100. Application forms are available to interested parties at the Fisheries Sub-Stations or the closest Zonal Fisheries Office. The deadline for submitting the completed applications is March 21, 2025.
