Samsung Targets 10% Market Share in India’s Room Air Conditioner Market with AI-Driven Innovations

Samsung India has made significant strides in the room air conditioner market, achieving a 10% market share in the first quarter of 2025. This growth is attributed to the launch of its BESPOKE AI WindFree series, which includes 19 models featuring advanced AI technology for personalized cooling experiences.
The company has doubled its sales compared to the same period last year, showcasing a robust 2X growth. Samsung’s Vice President of Digital Appliances Business, Ghufran Alam, expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory, highlighting its efforts to democratize AI technology and expand its distribution network by 40%. The company has also partnered with financial institutions to offer EMI options, making its products more accessible to consumers.
Samsung’s room air conditioners are priced between ₹32,990 and ₹60,900, catering to a wide range of customers. The company is also exploring opportunities in the commercial air conditioning sector, targeting new constructions like malls, offices, and educational institutions.
The Indian room air conditioner market, estimated at 13 million units, is highly competitive, with players like Voltas, LG, Daikin, and Blue Star. However, Samsung’s innovative approach and strategic initiatives position it as a strong contender in the industry.
