Police training school in Prothrapur holds oath ceremony for four new recruits

An important milestone for recently hired staff was reached on November 19, 2024, when a solemn oath ceremony was performed in the Police Training School (PTS) Drill Hall in Prothrapur. Two Recruit Police Constables (Drivers) and two Recruit Trainees (Tradesmen), who had successfully finished their demanding basic training, were sworn in by Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Principal of PTS. The occasion was attended by PTS officials, personnel, trainees’ families, and Mr. M.K. Shukla, DANIPS, PTS vice principal.

During her speech, Principal Ms. Sugathan commended the recruits for their commitment and diligence during their training, which encompassed the development of their technical, trade, and physical abilities. She encouraged the recruits to serve the community with dedication and sincerity, upholding the ideals of the Andaman & Nicobar Police, and she emphasized the significance of integrity, discipline, and public service in policing.

For the families of the trainees, who saw their loved ones embark on a noble and demanding career, the ceremony was a proud occasion. As the ceremony came to an end, the trainees, their families, and dignitaries engaged in casual conversations that promoted support and friendship. In order to ensure that its officers are prepared to handle the changing demands of law enforcement, the Andaman & Nicobar Police continues to place a high priority on professional training and skill development.
