Phurba Tamang of Sikkim wins the silver medal in the World 10K Bengaluru Marathon.
Phurba Tamang, fondly known as the “Marathon Girl of Sikkim,” hailing from Lingmoo, South Sikkim, secured a prestigious Silver medal in the 25-29 Age category at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru Marathon.
The 16th edition of the renowned Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10K Bengaluru commenced with great fervor, featuring a revamped route that challenged runners from various corners of the globe. Departing from the traditional Sree Kanteerava Stadium, the event kicked off at the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground, culminating at the Army Public School, the designated finish line.
Drawing elite athletes from India and beyond, the marathon witnessed formidable competition, with Kenya showcasing its renowned distance-running prowess through a strong contingent of male and female runners.
