Over 120 Students Participate in First-Ever Surya Namaskar Challenge at Model School Hall, Sri Vijaya Puram

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 11 — In a vibrant celebration of health and wellness, the first-ever Surya Namaskar Challenge was successfully organized at the Model School Hall in Sri Vijaya Puram on Friday. The event drew enthusiastic participation from over 120 students representing both government and private schools across the region.

The challenge was inaugurated by Dr. Shweta, a renowned yoga expert, who served as the chief guest. In her address, Dr. Shweta emphasized the holistic benefits of Surya Namaskar, urging students, teachers, and parents to incorporate the practice into their daily routines for improved physical and mental well-being. “Yoga is not just exercise—it’s a lifestyle that fosters discipline, focus, and inner peace,” she remarked.

The competition was divided into boys’ and girls’ categories, with top performers recognized for their precision and stamina:

Boys Section Winners:

  • 1st Place: B. Raju – GSS Junglighat
  • 2nd Place: Kunal Uraon – GSS Junglighat
  • 3rd Place: Seshanda Das – GSS Manglutan

Girls Section Winners:

  • 1st Place: Sriyanka Roy – SS Sagritara
  • 2nd Place: L. Kumari – GSS JunglighatOrganizers hailed the event as a milestone in promoting youth engagement with traditional wellness practices. The initiative is expected to be replicated in other districts as part of a broader campaign to integrate yoga into school curricula.
