Port Blair, August 28 — The High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC), Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair, has announced that the 3rd National Lok Adalat of 2025 will be held across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Saturday, September 13. The initiative aims to facilitate the amicable settlement of pending and pre-litigation cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
The Lok Adalat will commence at 11:30 AM within the premises of the Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court, Port Blair. It will address a wide range of matters, including civil disputes, criminal compoundable cases, matrimonial issues (excluding divorce), land acquisition claims, and service-related grievances. The effort is part of a nationwide campaign led by the National Legal Services Authority to promote timely and cost-effective justice.
Interested parties and their legal representatives are encouraged to submit joint applications for case settlement by 5:00 PM on September 1, 2025. Applications may be submitted in person at the HCLSC office or via email at hcourt.and@nic.in. Submissions received after the deadline will be considered for future Lok Adalat sessions, subject to the availability of case records and bench finalization.
Officials have clarified that only cases with complete documentation will be listed, and no reconstruction of files will be entertained. The final cause list will be prepared based on the availability of records from relevant departments.
