Students from the Nancowrie education zone showcased outstanding performances at the 9th State-Level Competition for Children with Special Needs, held at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram, from November 28 to December 1, 2025.
The event brought together participants from nine zones across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, offering a platform for children with diverse abilities to demonstrate their talent, skill, and determination.
Two students from the Nancowrie Zone secured medals in different categories. Nicolas, a student of GMS Pilpillow, won a silver medal in the shot put event under the Locomotor Disability category. Wellington, from GMSS Kamorta, earned two bronze medals — one in Chess and another in Ball Tracking under the Visual Impairment category.
Organisers highlighted that the competition aimed to foster inclusivity, encourage participation in sports, and promote equal opportunities for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
