Sitanagar, October 13, 2025 — Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sitanagar, hosted a comprehensive Mental Health Awareness Programme aimed at educating students and staff about the importance of psychological well-being and emotional resilience.
Organized in collaboration with local health authorities and mental health professionals, the event featured interactive sessions, expert talks, and group activities designed to destigmatize mental health issues and promote early intervention. The programme was inaugurated by the school principal, who emphasized the growing need for mental health literacy among adolescents and educators.
Psychologists and counselors from the district health department led discussions on topics such as stress management, anxiety, depression, and coping mechanisms. Students were encouraged to speak openly about their experiences and were provided with resources for seeking help when needed. A special session on mindfulness and emotional regulation was conducted, offering practical techniques for maintaining mental balance in academic and personal life.
