Mayawati urges UP government to curb casteism and communal hatred

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has called on the Uttar Pradesh government to take strict action against incidents of casteism and communal hatred. In a series of posts on social media, Mayawati expressed concern over atrocities against Dalits, including attacks on their marriage processions and disrespect towards statues of figures like Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and Gautam Buddha.

She emphasized the need for effective measures to control crime and punish culprits responsible for such acts. Mayawati also highlighted the challenges posed by anti-social elements spreading casteist and communal hatred, which she believes threaten internal security, especially during times of heightened tensions at the country’s borders.

Her remarks come amidst rising concerns over social harmony and the protection of marginalized communities in Uttar Pradesh.
