LIC sets global record, sells 5.88 lakh life insurance policies in a day
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has achieved a historic milestone by securing a Guinness World Record for selling the highest number of life insurance policies in a single day. On January 20, 2025, LIC’s extensive network of 4,52,839 agents successfully issued 5,88,107 policies across India, setting a new global benchmark for agent productivity in the life insurance sector.
The record-setting event was part of a special campaign called ‘Mad Million Day’, an initiative led by LIC Managing Director and CEO Siddhartha Mohanty. The campaign encouraged each agent to complete at least one policy on the designated day, resulting in an unprecedented achievement.
Mohanty expressed his gratitude to policyholders, agents, and employees, stating that the record is a reflection of LIC’s commitment to insuring lives and securing futures. He emphasized that the accomplishment validates the dedication, skill, and tireless work ethic of LIC’s agents, who played a crucial role in achieving this feat.
