KVIB & AH&VS concluded a skill development training on poultry and dairy farming

The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS) and the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) successfully completed a one-month poultry and dairy farming skill development training for recipients from the North and Middle Andaman and South Andaman districts. On January 20, 2025, the training got underway, and it ended on February 19, 2025. The extensive training program gave participants the necessary knowledge and practical expertise by combining theoretical and practical components.
Beneficiaries also went on field excursions to several farms to see dairy and poultry production in the real world. A valedictory program was held on March 5 at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Industries, Sri Vijaya Puram, to celebrate the training’s successful conclusion. The main guest during the function was Mr. Rakesh Das, Director of Industries and Member Secretary, A&NI KVIB. Special guests were Dr. K. A. Naveen, Director of AH&VS, and Ms. Sunita Kumari, Deputy Director, Directorate of Industries. Additionally, Dr. V. Subramaniam, Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO), AH&VS, and Dr. Negia Nazatha N. Arengh, AH&VS, graced the occasion.
Mr. Rakesh Das urged trainees to utilize government schemes like the PMEGP and PMFME Schemes to establish entrepreneurial ventures in poultry and dairy farming. He thanked AH&VS for their support. Dr. K. A. Naveen and Ms. Sunita Kumari emphasized self-employment in poultry and dairy farming, while Nodal Officers of these schemes provided insights. The training aims to empower participants in sustainable business development.
