The film delves into themes of love, solitude, and urban relationships in prominent Indian cities. However, what many might not be aware of is that the concept for this sequel originated from the late actor Irrfan Khan.

In an interview with, Anurag recounted a touching story about the origins of Metro… In Dino. He stated, “Following Jagga Jasoos, Irrfan and I were having a conversation, and he unexpectedly remarked, ‘Metro 2 banaate hai’. This was not immediately after Life in a… Metro; it occurred years later. However, it was his idea that sowed the seeds for this film.”Irrfan played a key role in the original film, which stood out for its mosaic of interconnected stories around urban relationships. His performance became one of the defining elements of Life in a… Metro.

About Metro… In Dino

The narrative develops through four interrelated romantic tales, featuring young, middle-aged, and elderly couples, all set in a vibrant metropolitan area. The trailer hints at the relationships among the couples: Sara Ali Khan with Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sen Sharma with Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal with Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Anupam Kher with Neena Gupta. The film is scheduled for release on July 4.
