Individual Arrested for Smuggling 1.010 Kg of Ganja Into Diglipur
In a swift and effective operation, the Diglipur Police successfully intercepted an illegal drug transaction, seizing over a kilogram of illicit ganja. After receiving a tip about a drug delivery at the Subashgram Post Office in Diglipur, the operation was led by Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS SDPO Diglipur. Based on trustworthy information, a specialized team headed by PS Diglipur SHO Inspector Vijay Kumar was quickly put together. Constables Neeraj Singh, Bijoy Sarkar, Susen Das, and R.C. Rathore, as well as two unaffiliated witnesses, comprised the team, and they all worked quickly to capture the culprit.
The group waited for the suspect to show up by quietly setting up shop next to the post office. A little while later, the person was spotted getting closer to the spot. The police team caught up with the culprit as soon as he picked up the package, and they searched him. As a result, 1.010 kg of ganja were found in the suspect’s hands. The suspect is 40-year-old Durgapur resident Uttam Kumar Biswas, of Diglipur’s Ward No. 4.
The accused admitted his involvement in the crime during questioning. Following his detention, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was used to file a case against him. Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS SDPO Diglipur, oversaw the operation, while Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District, provided general leadership.
