Imphal celebrates International Dance Day with breathtaking performances
The Department of Art and Culture in Imphal East district marked International Dance Day with a spectacular celebration at the Chandrakirti Auditorium, Palace Compound. The event showcased various forms of Manipuri dance, captivating the audience with their stunning and impressive performances.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Deputy Director of Art and Culture, G Dharmadas Sharma, highlighted the department’s ongoing efforts to promote performing arts within society. He emphasized the importance of events like International Dance Day in raising awareness about the cultural significance of dance and its deep-rooted connection to traditions.
Sharma noted that amidst the challenges faced by the state over the past year, organizing such events provides a temporary respite and moments of relief for the community. He stressed the significance of hosting meaningful functions to uplift spirits during times of crisis.
