ICICI Bank Champions Cancer Care with Landmark ₹625 Crore Investment at TMC

The development of a new cancer care facility at Tata Memorial Centre’s Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer in Navi Mumbai has begun, according to a statement released by ICICI Bank and TMC.

The facility, which will be one of India’s largest radiation therapy centers and be furnished with state-of-the-art cancer treatment technologies, was funded by the Bank’s ₹625 crore CSR donation.

According to the bank, this is a part of the ₹1,800 crore it has committed to TMC for the construction of three cutting-edge cancer care facilities: one each in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) in Punjab; and Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the “ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology” was officially opened with a groundbreaking ceremony and the unveiling of the foundation stone.

With two basements and a ground floor, the 11-story structure will cover 3.4 lakh square feet. Twelve cutting-edge Linear Accelerators (LINACs) and other cutting-edge cancer treatment equipment will be housed there. By precisely delivering radiation to cancer cells, LINACs reduce harm to nearby healthy tissues.According to the bank, 7,200 patients will receive radiation treatments each year in the “ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology,” which would provide them with more than two lakh radiation sessions.

Additionally, the block will offer diagnostics and OPD consultations to 25,000 new patients annually. By 2027, it is anticipated to be finished. Its execution will be supervised by ICICI Bank’s CSR division, the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.

When the “ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology” is finished, it would rank among India’s biggest radiation therapy facilities, according to Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Chairman of ICICI Bank. This will greatly increase the number of people in society who can access modern radiation therapy.

“We are dedicated to supporting healthcare infrastructure in areas of cancer care in the nation,” said Sandeep Batra, Executive Director of ICICI Bank. This dedication is emphasized by our ₹1,800 crore donation to Tata Memorial Centre for the construction of three new cancer treatment hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Navi Mumbai, and Mullanpur.
