Youth Wing President Anshuman Roy stressed the urgent need for essential diagnostic facilities—MRI, ECG, and CT scans—in all hospitals, including those outside Port Blair. He emphasized that the absence of trained technicians and 24/7 services endangers patients, especially in trauma cases.
They also highlighted long wait times at G.B. Pant Hospital’s OPD and urged authorities to promote digital registration via the “ABHA” app and QR-based systems, especially for rural and inter-island patients.
Issues at the Junglighat crematorium, such as broken platforms, stray animals, and lack of clean water, were raised by Pujari Vidyasagar Dubey. Delays in completing the Asthi Visarjan Ghat at Carbyn’s Cove were also criticized.
Volunteer Sanjay Kumar called for shelter for two long-term unidentified patients at G.B. Pant Hospital.
Vice President N. Venkata Ramanna discussed frequent power outages, water scarcity, and road safety concerns, demanding speed breakers in Dolygunj. The HRS urged officials to act transparently, fix issues, and update the public on improvements.
