Good Governance Week: Grievance Redressal Camps Held in South Andaman Villages

As part of the nationwide observance of Good Governance Week, grievance redressal camps were organized across several villages in South Andaman, bringing administrative services directly to the doorsteps of citizens.

The initiative aimed to strengthen participatory governance by ensuring that residents in remote areas could access government services without having to travel long distances. Officials from various departments attended the camps, addressing public grievances, processing applications, and providing information on welfare schemes.

Villagers welcomed the effort, noting that the camps made it easier to resolve issues related to ration cards, pensions, land records, and other essential services. The administration emphasized that such outreach programs are designed to foster transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance.

By decentralizing service delivery, the grievance redressal camps not only reduced bureaucratic hurdles but also reinforced the government’s commitment to citizen-centric administration. The camps are expected to continue across other parts of the district during the week, ensuring wider coverage and greater public participation.
