Shafali Verma of India has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November, following her stunning performance in the Women’s World Cup Final that inspired her team to their first title. Shafali is joined by two nominations from the just finished inaugural ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy, UAE’s Esha Oza and Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong. Shafali, a late addition to the India squad, led the team in scoring in the final, helping India win their first ICC title. In her only ODI outing in November, she scored an amazing 87 runs off 78 balls, striking at 111.53 to set the tone at the top. Shafali’s bowling effort was similarly essential, as she took two crucial wickets of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp for 36 runs from seven overs, breaking vital partnerships at critical moments. Her overall brilliance in the final demonstrated her ability to perform under pressure.
