Elections of 2024: A Contest Between Rahul Gandhi and PM Modi: Ajit Pawar

Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, stated on Saturday that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are competing in this Lok Sabha election rather than familial dynamics. Sunetra, the wife of NCP candidate Ajit Pawar, began her campaign on Saturday by leading prayers at the Hanuman temple in Kanheri. Sunetra is running for the Baramati Lok Sabha seat in the Pune district. At the campaign launch were Ajit Pawar, his sons Parth and Jay, as well as a number of local party leaders. Both Sunetra and her sister-in-law Supriya Sule, a three-term member of the Lok Sabha, submitted their nomination papers for the NCP and NCP, respectively, on Thursday.

In case his wife’s nomination is not scrutinized or if there is discovered to be a difference, Ajit Pawar has also submitted nomination papers for the position, which an NCP official said as a fallback option. Speaking to the assembly, Ajit Pawar declared, “After praying to Lord Hanuman, we are beginning the official campaign. Family ties have no bearing on the election. The main contest in the election is between Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” In addition, Sule began her campaign for office on Friday by praying at the Hanuman temple in front of her father, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and other Pawar family members.

Everyone was seated next to Pawar saheb yesterday. They made an effort to demonstrate the family’s unity. One of them asserted that all of Baramati’s institutions were founded by Sharad Pawar. What have I done in the past thirty years, then? stated Ajit Pawar. In addition to being a member of the Maha Vikas Aghadi alongside the Shiv Sena and Congress, the NCP is a constituent of the Mahayuti coalition, which also includes the Bharatiya Janata Party.
