Director General Of Police, A&N Islands Inaugurates A Hi-Tech Call Center For The Cyber Crime Helpline 

In a major step towards enhancing public safety and cyber vigilance, the Andaman and Nicobar Police inaugurated a Hi-Tech Center for the Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930, under the Cyber Crime Police Station. The event took place at the Police Radio Complex in Marine Hill, Port Blair, and was attended by Director General of Police Shri HGS Dhaliwal, IPS, along with Smti. Sindhu Pillai, IPS (Inspector General of Police, Law & Order), and Smti. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS (Inspector General of Police, Security).

The newly launched call center aims to provide citizens with a quick, tech-driven platform to report cybercrime cases, receive expert guidance, and ensure efficient redressal. Staffed by trained personnel and cyber investigators, it serves as the initial contact point for victims of digital crimes such as online fraud, financial scams, and social media harassment.

Equipped with advanced infrastructure and smart call-handling tools, the center ensures better coordination with national platforms for faster case resolution. This initiative reflects the police’s forward-thinking approach in addressing the growing threats of cybercrime and fostering digital safety and public trust.
