DHL Express Launches ₹34 Crore Service Centre in Bengaluru to Boost Logistics Efficiency

DHL Express, a global leader in international express shipping, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art service centre at the AISATS Logistics Park within Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The facility, developed at an investment of ₹34 crore (approximately €3.43 million), is part of the company’s strategic expansion to meet rising shipment volumes across Southern India.
Spanning 17,900 square feet, the new centre is equipped with advanced automation technologies, including telescopic conveyors, wheel sorters, and logic-based conveyor sequencing systems. These enhancements are designed to significantly reduce shipment processing times and improve throughput capacity for both import and export operations.
“With closer proximity to the airport and cutting-edge automation, we can process shipments faster while reducing manual effort,” said RS Subramanian, Senior Vice President, South Asia, DHL Express. He emphasized that the facility will enhance regional productivity and position the company to handle future volume growth with greater agility.
The expansion aligns with DHL’s Strategy 2030: Accelerating Sustainable Growth, which focuses on strengthening infrastructure in high-potential markets and supporting global supply chain diversification. The Bengaluru centre features dedicated drive-in bays for pick-up and delivery vehicles, optimizing shipment handling and minimizing turnaround times.
Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific, highlighted the significance of the move: “By enhancing our infrastructure in key markets like Southern India, we are not only reinforcing our commitment to seamless international trade but also ensuring that our customers—from SMEs to multinational corporations—have the logistics support needed to seize emerging opportunities.”
The facility is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting India’s growing trade ecosystem, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are increasingly engaging in global commerce.
