A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in East Delhi’s Geeta Colony on Friday night following a heated altercation that began when his scooter allegedly brushed past one of the accused. The incident has led to the arrest of three individuals and heightened security in the area.
The victim, identified as Yash, a resident of Rani Garden, was returning home around 9:30 p.m. when his two-wheeler reportedly made slight contact with a man named Rihan. The minor collision escalated into a verbal confrontation, drawing in Rihan’s associates—Mohammad Amaan and Lucky.
According to police officials, the trio chased Yash toward the Geeta Colony Pusta flyover. During the pursuit, Amaan allegedly stabbed Yash in the lower back. Locals rushed the injured youth to a hospital in Laxmi Nagar, where he was declared dead on arrival.
A case of murder has been registered, and all three accused have been taken into custody. One of the suspects is reportedly a juvenile. Authorities have deployed additional police and Rapid Action Force personnel in the area to prevent unrest, as tensions remain high following the incident.
Local MLA Anil Goyal visited the victim’s family and called for a thorough investigation, suggesting the possibility of deeper criminal links in the locality. The Delhi Police have urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information on social media.
The tragic episode has reignited concerns over rising street violence and the need for conflict de-escalation mechanisms in urban neighborhoods.
