Congress Welcomes 32 New Members in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Hosts Induction Ceremony at State Headquarters

In a significant boost to its regional presence, the Indian National Congress welcomed 32 new members into its fold in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The induction ceremony was held at the party’s state headquarters and was presided over by senior Congress leader O Basheer, who facilitated the joining process and addressed the gathering.

The newly inducted members, representing diverse backgrounds and constituencies across the Union Territory, were formally introduced during the event. Party officials emphasized that the expansion reflects growing public confidence in the Congress’s vision and grassroots outreach in the islands.

O Basheer, speaking at the ceremony, stated, “This is not just a numerical addition. Each new member brings with them a commitment to democratic values and the collective aspiration to strengthen the Congress movement in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.”

The event was marked by traditional welcome rituals, distribution of party insignia, and a briefing on the Congress’s current organizational priorities. Local media and party supporters attended the ceremony, which was also streamed online to reach wider audiences across the archipelago.

The Congress leadership reiterated its focus on inclusive development, environmental sustainability, and safeguarding the rights of indigenous communities in the region. The party also announced plans to intensify its outreach programs ahead of upcoming local elections.

This development comes amid broader efforts by the Congress to revitalize its presence in remote and strategically significant territories. The addition of 32 new members is expected to enhance the party’s organizational strength and mobilization capacity in the islands.
