Congress President Urges Swift Action on Load Shedding Crisis in South Andaman; Warns of Protest if Issue Persists

The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has raised serious concerns over the ongoing and severe load shedding crisis affecting the residents of South Andaman District. In a formal letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Mr. Halder highlighted the widespread public distress caused by frequent and prolonged power outages.

According to Mr. Halder, the persistent electricity disruptions have adversely impacted various sections of society, including students, patients, business owners, and daily wage earners. He emphasized that essential services are also being compromised due to the unstable power supply, thereby affecting the overall functioning of the district.

In his communication, Mr. Halder urged the administration to take immediate and effective steps to resolve the crisis. He warned that if the issue continues to remain unaddressed, the Congress party would be compelled to organize public protests and potentially call for a bandh to demand accountability and action.

The Congress leader’s statement reflects growing frustration among residents, who have been grappling with erratic electricity supply for weeks. The party has called for transparency in the administration’s response and a clear timeline for restoring stable power across South Andaman.

As of now, the administration has not issued a formal response to Mr. Halder’s letter. However, the matter is expected to gain further traction if the crisis persists and public agitation intensifies.
